WHY mediclub kids?

Clinic Today

Vascular diseases in pediatric patients are highly prevalent. In fact, approximately 20-25% of children encounter these conditions, predominantly (and fortunately!) in mild forms. The majority of cases involve superficial vascular anomalies, such as hemangiomas and vascular dysplasias (e.g., “port-wine stains,” “congenital nevi”). Systematic diagnosis and therapeutic management of these conditions were not previously conducted in our country and the Caucasus region prior to the establishment of our clinic. Through the integration of scientific methodologies and practical clinical expertise, coupled with extensive experience, we provide accurate diagnosis and timely intervention for patients presenting with mild, moderate, and severe vascular pathologies.

Our clinic offers initial consultations and comprehensive care for hemangiomas of any location and dimension, as well as complex dysplasias (including cases with prominent red lesions on the face and body) and other manifestations of superficial vascular disorders.

Early diagnosis is of paramount importance. We accept neonatal patients from the day of birth. Prompt identification of the condition allows for the effective administration of the therapeutic regimen. Our clinic conducts primary clinical and instrumental evaluations, administers treatment protocols (which typically involve a minimum of three procedures, most often spaced at one-month intervals), and performs ongoing monitoring throughout the treatment and subsequent rehabilitation phases.

Our Directions

Main Directions:

Treatment of hemangiomas and superficial vascular diseases using laser sclerotherapy with the Candela VBeam device is exclusively available in our clinic in the Caucasus region. No other clinic possesses the expertise or the specialized equipment for vascular pathologies. No other laser device has proven efficacy in treating hemangiomas and vascular anomalies. Our team, with over 20 years of experience using this specific model in St. Petersburg, has successfully treated over 40,000 children with these conditions, achieving consistently good to excellent results following the recommended treatment protocols.

The principle of laser therapy involves reducing vascularization in the affected area, which halts the growth potential of the lesion and accelerates regression. In cases of capillary dysplasia, the mechanism targets sclerosis of the microcirculation, gradually lightening the affected area. The treatment is conducted without damaging the skin surface, leaving no scars and providing lasting positive outcomes.

Adherence to the following essential guidelines is crucial: treatment should be administered in courses (typically one course includes three procedures), with results evaluated after each course. The treatment schedule over a year includes a fixed number of procedures, as the effects are cumulative—conducting a single procedure or an unfixed number of impulses is not beneficial. Treatment outcomes are assessed by a dermatologist-laser therapist, vascular surgeon, or radiologist in the case of hemangiomas.

Our center offers laser sclerotherapy not only for children but also for adults (during specially allocated times), as prior to the establishment of our clinic, such opportunities were unavailable for many years. Consequently, children who needed early treatment have grown up and still suffer from "childhood" diseases. The treatment results for adults are equally effective as those for children (see our gallery for patient results).
