Surgery

Surgery is a branch of medicine that studies methods of treating diseases primarily through operations. Surgical specialties provide general or specialized surgical treatment for patients of any age with a wide range of congenital or acquired pathologies. In surgery, both conventional (open) approaches and minimally invasive techniques (laparoscopy, thoracoscopy, endovascular treatment, etc.) are used. Surgery also provides medical care for patients with benign or malignant tumors (primary tumors, their recurrence, or metastases).

Surgery in Modern Medicine

Surgery is one of the most important branches of modern medicine, which is constantly developing and improving. Surgical interventions are used to treat various diseases and injuries, for diagnosis, and for prevention.

The main goals of surgery are:

Saving lives, Treating diseases, Restoring function, Reducing pain, Diagnosis and Prevention.

Minimally invasive techniques, such as laparoscopy and robotic surgery, are widely used in modern surgery. These methods allow operations to be performed through small incisions, which reduces pain, the risk of infection, the length of hospitalization, and accelerates the recovery process.

The main trends in modern surgery are:

Minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgery, telesurgery, the use of virtual reality in surgery, the use of 3D printing in surgery, personalized medicine in surgery.

Modern surgery is constantly developing and improving, which allows for improved patient treatment outcomes and quality of life.
